Achievements of Dr. Kannangara

Dr. Kannangara's contributions to education and the independence movement in Ceylon were significant, including the establishment of Free Education, the University of Ceylon, and Central Colleges, as well as the advancement of Pirivena Education for young Buddhist monks. Despite these achievements, he faced defeat in his immediate post-election, although he later won subsequent elections and continued to play an active role in politics until 1956.
